|The note was a nice touch!|
Verdant was glad I contacted them about this and made it right, as so many of you told me they would. So this is my second time ordering Tieguanyin from Verdant, also a sample I chose along with my order of their wonderful Yunnan White Jasmine which I highly recommend!
I followed the parameters to a 'T' on the back of the (new) packaging, and used 4 grams out of the 5.6 grams in the sample in my 6 ounce Gaiwan. It was nice looking coming out of the bag, totally different from that initial sample, smelled wonderful in the bag and the tea itself was a total delight.
I can see why Tieguanyins are popular. Verdant, vegetal but smooth, really nice. It was too hot for me brewing it at 205f as they instructed and I burned the hell out of my soft little fingers but that's how it goes sometimes, right? I treated myself to a third and fourth steeping at my preferred temp of 180 and enjoyed it much more, the temperature, the flavor, and the ability to hold the broth in my mouth longer without risking my tongue.
